I\'m BACK! Pics included!

I haven't been on much lately. Too much stuff going on. However, I've finally got enough time to work on jeeps again!

First off, there has been a new addition to the family. I've upgraded from my little blue '95 "Power" Ranger to a REAL towrig. A '99 F-250 Super Duty with the 5.4 Triton V-8.

Next up is the '90 Wrangler body I got to replace the rust ridden body on the '85 CJ7 "Precision Guesswork". This is at Northwest Auto Parts in Anchorage. The Wrangler had had an engine fire, and there is some minor damage to the firewall. Far easier to fix then what is wrong with the '7s Tub.

And the BIG score was this one. My dad had a line on a '43 or '44 Ford 9 hole flat fender. He went down to look at it, but it was pretty well shot. More of a project then either of us wanted though. However, the guy also had a rolled '94 Cherokee that he just GAVE us. It even runs nice! This winter's project is to rebuild it and drop in the crank from the 258 currently in the '7. It already has a york on it, so the one in the garage is a spare.

Mmmmm.....stroker and fuel injection......

Wow...... setting up for winter already?!!

I wish you were closer so I could give you a hand with that body swap, and maybe learn some about the efi swap. I wish I could get in on some FREE stuff like THAT! Good score!

Either way keep us posted... sounds like an awesome project! Keep the pics coming....

Oh... and welcome back too!

Hey Bob! Been wonderin' where you've been... but knowing how AK is somewhat 'seasonal', I figured you've been busy doing 'sumthin'.

Nice scores on the towrig, YJ tub and XJ. Since you've been AWOL, I've snagged a surplus XJ (from GSA) for a DD and have been very pleased w/ it. I'd like to find a rolled one, cut the roof off, install a cage and put a sunblocking bikini-type top on it. (Wife rolls her eyes everytime I mention it... as the boys scream their encouragement - as if I needed any.)

Oh yea, I thought of you when we picked our new baby's name - Jacob PILOT. No not directly named for you, but for the general nature of the definition of a "pilot": one who guides, leads, etc.

WELCOME BACK!
