I\'m back on the trails

Well I rode my YZ for the first time since my wreck. I went to Hollister Hills on Saturday. It was way too hot for me! The first thing I noticed is that the bike felt wrong. I replaced the bent bars with new Renthals, so all the levers felt like they were in the wrong place and the bars felt like they were never in the "right" position. /wwwthreads_images/icons/frown.gif We took off down the trails and I felt very cramped. My hip has grown very stiff. I need to hit the gym and do some squats to gain the movement back. So I stood for most of the time. I started gaining a little confidence, but dang it was hot. Well, the traction was terrible. It was like sand on cement. I went down while going about 15 mph around a right hander. The front end washed out and down I went. Ouch right on the bad leg. I was seeing stars, but I just wanted to get to some shade. I could through my leg over the bike so I had to start it from off the bike. What a drag that was. We got to some shade and drank all the water we had. It was just too hot to have fun. I'm glad I "got back on the horse," but I guess I was just hoping to go back on the moto cross track and start shedding. As it was I was on the easy trails and sweating. Dough! /wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif At least it is a start and I can start my bike. Just wanted to say I'm back on the trails! And that is a good thing. /wwwthreads_images/icons/cool.gif

Re: I\'m back on the trails

i wracked up both my legs last year, groin pull, dont know hoe to spell groin, ya knoew the nut region! i lost alot of flexibility in my side leg lifts, there is this machine they have at my gym that makes you do splits and holds you their. also i like the sled and sqauts, i quit smoking bout four months ago and i can really tell a diff when i ride hard. streching really makes a diff now, iu had a hard time getting leg over bike too. now its not too bad, not as bad as a broken femur that is. just dislocated shoulder though but i only have 2 more weeks in the sling. good luck man

Re: lump sum

i have gotten some grief from family and friends of late in regards to recent injuries sustained to my appendages. the following is my new response:

what is worth it- yes
did you learn anything from this- go faster next time
are you crazy-to the best of my knowledge yes
are you gonna stop now- i will stop riding dirtbikes when they close mcdonalds and burgerking and wendys. i will stop riding when you quit smoking cigerrettes. i will stop riding when u stop drinkin. i will stop riding when everyone joins the gym and eats only the healthiest of foods. ya see i am taking the lump sum cash settlement. you can have the 50 year payoff, cause when you croak from a heart attack at the age of 55 cause u love the greaze that drips out the end of that cheesesteak. and die with all that money in the bike. i will have already collected my cash and now will be enjoying a relaxing life. when u are discovering that u aint done nuttin with your disgusting self besides devote yourself to a company that doesnt give a rats azz about u i will know that all my dreams have been fulfilled. so how is that tripple qaurter pounder with cheese?????

Preach it brother roostinya!

My name is Jewels.........and I am addicted to motorcycles.
The first step to getting more motorcycles is admitting you have a problem.

It was like that before you let me ride it...really.
