anyone know an easy way to take off the black rubber "boots" on the spark plugs so that I can get started and put in the new ones? I have been struggling for an hour and can't get the darn suckers off. Swearing and bloody knuckles won't help me, there in a tight spot. I don't wanna use pliers, cause I am afraid I will cruch something. Any help or advice if you guys can? Thanks..

Try turning them to break them loose. Yes, you can use pliers, but remember you're not "killing snakes" as my dearly departed Dad used to say.

local auto parts store,a little tool called a spark plug boot puller

Find yourself a pair if those needlenose pliers with the hooked business end, grap the top of the boot, right where the wire meets the boot, and twist the boot on the spark plug as far as your wrist will let you. Then take the pliers in your other hand, maintaining your grip on the boot, and twist it some more. Keep on going until it breaks free. If the boot rips, they needed to be replaced anyway, as they have become too brittle due to the heat.
