Dam, there are alot of used 3/4 ton clatterer's in the swapers here. All with about 40 thousand miles on em. I don't know what was said after wensday morning yoat. The power has been off since late wendsday night until late night satarday. So I don't know what was said, but I'm willing to bet that was it. He probrably flew off the handle, but hey. I didn't start it

What was your shocking news at work the other day?

 

Our plant manager and head of sales quit the company and corperate. They bought into there own company in canada. In other words, there going to try and steal some of our customers. There are no steel teriffs in canada like we have in the states. So they will be able to get there imported steel cheeper, and customers will be able to get there product cheaper.

 

Smart guys are you going to have to go there or are they keeping your place open and shipping stuff down here from there?

 

We are owned by corperate. They left the company, and now are enemies of corperate. I'm stayin here for now. Everything I own is payed for, and I have a good nest egg saved up. So if our company folds in the future, I could go work in windsor ontario, or just go back to school and get a better job. I have a pretty sweet (somewhat) job right now, that would be hard to find.

 

Oh I see so they are trying to take your company's buisness. Will the company give a severance pay for your time being with them if they fold? I think when I get out of the Air Force I am going to go back to school. I want to go to a tech instute for diesel mechanic.I have the Montgomery GI bill that will cover any schooling I want to do and it dosen't matter if I use it right now or when I get out. So I want to use it for something. How's the girl status going ?

 

Girl status isn't too bad, have something in the works

. I'd get at least a year of unemployment. If you wanted the best deisel mechanics programm, go to ferris state university. They have everything there you could think of. And they garuantee you job replacement. CAT is always looking to scoop up graduates every year.

 

I have heard there is good money in it , A lady I was talking to at a school said if you don't get at least 60,000 a year something is wrong. Yea girl status for me is suckin I have no clue what's up with it I have a ton of potentials and are half realed in but no none landed . I am really not making a huge effort to try either.

. I think 45000 is about the average, but that's with full benefis and retirement. I'm not sure who is the best manufactuer to work for anymore.

 

as long as there is construction and trucking there will be work, So it seems pretty secure.

 

I think I'd rather be a heavy equipment operator, but your gonna have to live near a big city to make money though. I was looking into a powerline school programm. It's only 6 months, your garunteed job placement and your certified in electricity. That way you could work for edison, drive 30mph on purpose while getting paid. But your gonna have to work in all the crappy weather.

 

Yea I hear you there , well I operate equip on the weekends and did it before I came into the airforce . I love operating but it sucks in the winter. I would probably rather be in a garage working on rigs during the winter.

. Didn't think about the winter time thing, never really done it so I wouldn't know. But I heard them guys make pretty good money.

Sounds like a plan!, it's so much more fun over there for the boy's night out. Man you just have no idea. Everyone throws down like 40 bucks each (canadien) for drinks and you just pound away until you can barely walk. Them chick's are alot of fun too. We rent a hotel, and take a cab to and from the bars.
