as sarge said, be careful not to let the busted peices fall into the tranny. btw, the broken bolt tip is still floating around in my wife's zuk's tranny and it won't come out. guess if it locks up on us i know why.....

didn't have to fish the end of my bolt out as it stayed up with the shifter......but if it did brake off and fall to the bottom you May...just maybe you might be able to get one of em big magnets that they sell at harbor freight and coax the broken part towards the drain hole....probly be a good idea to drive around and get the oil warmed up first to make it a lil less thick. just an idea

I did it, didn't take very long, the old one wasn't even that worn or anything, if anything it made it harder to put it into the 5th, but the 2nd to third shift is tighter now.

Now only of the shackle bushings would get here.

while we are talking about Draining the Tranny, what size of nut is it that the drain and fill/check take, I don't have a socket big enough to fit it with me so i need to borrow tools??

I know of two trannies that blew up from those bolt tips , I'm sure there are more of them out there . If it gets to floating around in the oil it can get lodged between the gears and the case , grenading the case and shafts . I do build shifter towers with twin bolts to stop the wear problem associated with the single pivot point . Need to get a few more done and ready to ship now that I think about it ....

hmmm Nut??? not sure about every one else's tranny but Mine uses the end of a 3/8 ratchet......maybe your's have been replaced with bolts.....the only drain point that I know of on a zuk that uses a socket is the oil.....think thats a 17mm or was it 15mm one of the 2 i'm lean'n towards 17 though..

well there's my 2 cents of the day

whoops realized my F-up the 3rd members do have bolt heads to slap a socket on on the fill/check hole......17mm is what they are (checked) so I Reckon oil is the same
