Hey guys

I just scored a free car!

its a 1988 Saab 9000 turbo

its a 4 door.....in decent shape for an 88, the body is mostly straight a lil rust over the wheels, doesnt start at the moment, needs a new battery. Also has a bad wheel bearing or something on the front driver side. inside is flawless black leather...

got it from a buddy leaving for the Navy

SO!....What should i do.....Fix it and keep it? Fix it and Sell it? leave it broken and sell it ?

does anyone want to buy it? i know if i get it to start i can easily sell it for a at least 500-750 dollars since it looks nice and drove nice (before it sat outside for a year w/o being driven)

so what yur input

They're actually rather nice cars. I'll bet that front bearing is sealed and going to be a pain, but take it to a relatively competent import auto place. The problem there is you're probably talking about a couple hundred just to get it fixed. Not to mention if that bearing was bad for awhile then the strut(s) might need to be replaced - another 100 or 300. That old of a turbo scares me too, but its a kick in the pants to drive. Its one of those late kick in boosts - it feels like a dog till about 20mph or a couple thousand rpms then it kicks in. I'm a fan of the old saab's, some think they're ugly.

-Nice find. I'd be worried of getting the money I put into it out of it.

i'm gonna get a new battery for it....fix the flat tire....then see how it goes. from there
