Anyone out their using Howell's fuel injection kit for the amc 304. I just talked to one of the guys over at Howell and he said they were no longer going to offer the 4 barrel kits. What does everyone run on their 304s, 2 or 4 barrel efi kits? My 304 has been rebuilt, uses 40 over pistons and a slightly larger comp cam, is the 2 barrel going to be big enough compared to my 4 barrel carb?

I believe the 2bbl flows about 670 cfm. That is good for a engine that will turn 6500-7200 rpm with 351 cubes. Should be more than enough for your 304.

actually that is the Holley kit (670 cfm, 2 barrel). The howell kit seems to be about $400 more for the same basic idea. however the howell kit may have some other advantages, but I haven't really looked in to it due to the cost

Did GM make a 4 barrel TBI? Maybe you could look into that. I know someone who bought a GM TBI (2 barrel) from the wrecker for $200 and swapped it onto his 258. Basically the same thing as a Howell, but you have to figure out the little details to get to run right as opposed to having it all set-up for you.

The 454 had a 4bl TBI unit. It doesnt matter because a 4bl is way too much for that 304.
