Jep,
If your talking about your 83 CJ, then the altitude is part of the computer. There is a wire on the right side of the engine that runs in the same wire loom as the dist and oil sending unit. Its a black wire that looks like it should be grounded....in fact, most people think it is a ground and bolt it to the block with the other ground wire....like I did. Anyway, when its grounded, the computer runs the Carb leaner. With it ungrounded...it runs richer. If you go over 5000 feet, it should be grounded.

a 2150 has a cylinder in the back of it( firewall side) that is about 1.5 inches in dia. an 2 in long..either a wire or vac line going to it ( i rebuilt one about 5 years ago, hard to remember)

ill try to find the old book and get you some pics

/wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif We just got a 2150 carb for the SNOJEEP from a Jeeper in Colorado this last summer, and the altitude compensator is sticking out the back of the carb....sort of on the right rear corner, and has a screw adjustment sticking out. Some carbs even have an electric bowl vent solenoid in the front, which is no longer used and can be removed. Ours came with an idle solenoid right on it so we are all set for cold weather warm-up(via a switch on the dash) and an A/C compressor cut-in-high-idle as well when we add our A/C system. They claim these carbs are the poor man's fuel injection, but we are not quite aiming THAT high. Yeah, 26 MPG would be nice, but we might miss that just a little./wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif
