Just pulled t-5 last night, to replace clutch. clutch was hosed, but when I grabbed the maindrive on the tranny (shaft that goes into back of crank) it seemed to have some play in it. Just wondering if this was normal and if it was not normal, what is acceptable play. Also if it is hard to fix (e.g. unbolt this slip it out, replace bearing, install and bolt up, yeah right anything that easy ) Thanks for your time and wisdom. Jeremy

i've had my t-5 out several times recentley to fix a grinding problem. and i've been assured that a few mm of movement is acceptable. But the (input shaft) bearing is immidietley behind the bell housing and not hard to change, so if your uncomfratable with the play (jump in)

Yours should be either an AX-5 (4 cylinder) or AX-15 (6 cylinder).
