Hey I saw this question on PM's board and thought ya'll could shed some more light on this. Plus it'd help with some future products.

How much does a 4.0L weigh? Compared to 4.3 Vortec? 5.0? 5.7? From what I understand, that 4.0 is hefty.

figure that steel weighs about 500 lbs per cubic foot, so i'd guess your motor would be 750 to 1000 lbs.

My 258 head weighs something under 100#. The short block couldn't weigh much more than 200#. Two of us moved it around quite a bit by hand when I was rebuilding.
