I was just curious and would like to hear from other people around the country as to how far you guys drive to some of your better riding spots. Here in New Jersey more and more woods are getting ripped up for movie theaters, strip malls, and old folks homes or someone gets hurt and the cops come in and chase us out. We do have places to ride out here but they are spread out, some are way down in South Jersey and out in Pennsylvania. I actually live next to some woods and can ride whenever i want but it is only a small patch of woods with a little pit. Most of the places i want to go are probably 2-4 hours away but its a small price I'm willing to pay. Any input is appreciated.

I live in Thunder Bay, which is in Northern Ontario CANADA. I have my quad at my parents house, so I just suit up and go ride from there. One prob is though, that there are so many places to ride, that it can take a while to figure out which way you want to go LOL

I live in Rhode Island your problem is common and getting worse! We don't have any legal land in R.I. except for private land. Most people in R.I. won't give permission to riders for a few reasons. First and foremost we live in a small state so everything is close, that's the problem! NO ONE WANT'S TO LISTEN TO A 2-STROKE. Of all the land owners I've talked to the biggest complaint is that 2-stroke whine off in the distance. There was an area in my town that was ok for some years but again the residents complained about the 2-strokes and 2 weeks ago the cops had a sting operation going and busted 60 riders. All went to court on monday morning, one stayed in jail three days for lack of bail money
GOOD LUCK! RIDE SAFE! bendit360

3.5-4 hours to my favorite spot, and worth every second it takes to get out there.

There are other places i can get to in 1.5 hrs, but the quality is not so good.

I hear ya bendit360, your scene sounds familiar, i know of lots of mining areas but they are off limits and it seems like the cops get off on trying to catch us, one time a friend of mine was just hangin out on his quad catching a breather and a cop snuck up on foot and started running after him and his zuzuki would not start, just as the cop was reaching to grab him my friend started up and tore off and roosted dirt all over the cop, funny stuff! there are lots of places up in West Mass i think. There is also a 5000 acre park in East Central Penn that I'm going to check out, check out the site at www.towercitytrailriders.com They have camping there since it would be a far drive. later.

Your right about western mass. riding, I have relatives who live out that way and we are planning some rides and camp-outs in the state parks over there. He said the cops are cool and the trails are endless. We should start riding there this May. It's about an hour and a half ride from my house ,I don't think that's to bad. Ride safe! bendit360

Hey all,
I live in Sumas WA, (Right along Canuck border and against the mountains, Eh?), and some of my favorite places are within 5 min. of my house. I'm pretty lucky I guess, seeing how far some of you have to drive. Even up here though, more and more logging properties and roads are being "reclaimed" by private companies and gates are going up. There's BIG trouble if you get caught past those gates too. At the rate they're going up, and if nothing is done, within 5 years I too will have to drive a couple of hours to ride. That bites. You can't stop the wheels of progress.
