Tim,

The glass normally comes out quite easy. I usually take the top off so I can stand up in the Jeep or if the frame is off you can do it as well, but with the frame still on the Jeep, you have something to push against. I always find it easier to have somebody to help catch the glass on the other side. Stand on the inside and ease the rubber lip over the egdge of the windshield at one point, applying pressure to the glass at the same time. You might have to help the rubber to get over the frame edge for a bit more, but once it gets going, it is easy. Just make sure somebody on the other side catches the glass as it comes out. I have done it on my own, but an extra pair of hands is better.

Try heating up the rubber seal and slideing the glass out.

Get a sledgehammer and gently tap it out of the frame.

Or you could take a cutoff saw and cut the frame from around the windshield.

I'm assuming you are re-installing the windshield into another frame with a new gasket, so my advice is to put a new blade into a utility knife. Slide the blade between the glass and the gasket, and work the knife all around the windshield. Basically, cut the gasket in half. The windshield will come out easily. If you are hoping to re-use the gasket, just "work" two screwdrivers under the gasket while sitting in the front seat. TAKE YOUR TIME!! Be patient. Otherwise you will shatter the glass. It's NOT all that complicated, but if you rush it, you'll break the glass. Good luck!!

this is gonna sound basic, but please wear gloves and make your helper does also.
i've replaced several CJ windshields and it is not rocket surgery but it has a degree of risk
use your head and work slowww.
