Everything up to and including 1971 is virtually the same. AMC changed the front sheet metal and chassis in 1972.1972 and 1973 were the same.

The only difference to look for is if your 70 has a hood catch inside like newer vehicles or not. Some of the older models only latch on the outside by the hood catches. My 71 has both. I had 2 hoods (68&71)in the back yard at one time and both had different latching systems but were otherwise the same.
