hood/fender diff\'s between a 5 and 7

Hey, I recently picked up a 1968 Jeepster commando and the hood/fenders are bent up not to mention it looks dorky.

But I've read a bit here or there about people with Jeepsters putting a 'short' CJ-5 hood and fenders on their Jeepster which will bolt right on.
What are the years of a 'short' CJ-5 ? and what's the length differences between a short Cj-5 hood and a normal
CJ-5 or CJ-7 hood ?

thanks.

The short fenders and hood are pre-72 ('71 and older). They are three inches shorter.

I had good luck finding AM General postal Jeep fenders and hood (short type) at the local self-serve wrecking yard. In CA they are plentiful at the moment. Even the late models used the shorter fenders and hood. The grill is different though (extended for radiator clearance). They also usually have the side marker light cut-outs that the '68-'86 fenders have.
