Hey anyone out there ever used a Honda/Acura alt instead of the GM? I just got one for free and at first glance looks to be the same approximate size while putting out 150 amps....

The only thing is that the Honda alt is a 4 wire as compared to the zuk 3 wire hookup....

TIA,

I tried it couldnt quite get it to fit (it looked like it would fit so easily too)finally gave up if i recall it only needed one of the wires hooked up to work mine was from a 94ish honda civic not shure if it is the same as what you have

Hey szki272...

Do you remember if it was the mount or the alignment of the alt? Mine's offa 87 acura... looks like the pulley from the tracker alt will swap over.... I really need to get some serious juice to my electrics... nightfall is around the corner and my aux lights have yet to be wired.

TIA

i am tring to remember what the problem was i do recall grinding on the case tring to make it fit i may have been tring though to modify the alternator to fit the stock alternator mounts so i could swap back if need be I realy dont recall now

I now have a 100 amp gm alternator ($20 off ebay +15 or so shipping) since the stocker failed and it seems to work great a bit of belt slippage under heavy loads such as winching
