I tried it couldnt quite get it to fit (it looked like it would fit so easily too)finally gave up if i recall it only needed one of the wires hooked up to work mine was from a 94ish honda civic not shure if it is the same as what you have

Do you remember if it was the mount or the alignment of the alt? Mine's offa 87 acura... looks like the pulley from the tracker alt will swap over.... I really need to get some serious juice to my electrics... nightfall is around the corner and my aux lights have yet to be wired.

Are the honda alts cheap enough to warrant using it as an upgrade? certainly the should be common
enough to be readily available...

 

i am tring to remember what the problem was i do recall grinding on the case tring to make it fit i may have been tring though to modify the alternator to fit the stock alternator mounts so i could swap back if need be I realy dont recall now

I now have a 100 amp gm alternator ($20 off ebay +15 or so shipping) since the stocker failed and it seems to work great a bit of belt slippage under heavy loads such as winching

 

The Honda alternators are probably not cheap, but if they will fit they are very durable. On Hondas they're usually good for a couple of hundred thousand miles and up.

From what I remember, Honda engines rotate their crank counterclockwise... is this going to have an effect on the alternator?
