Anybody have a thought about this?
I was just going to ignore the rounded corners in back; actually my intention was to make the plywood top slip over the outside of the body, about 1", and then it would rest on the body on 1x1 rails glued to the inside of the top, and triangular gussets in the corners where it overhangs. I would avoid the steel frame, it'd actually be stronger if it was glued (and screwed) together with, say, 1x1's in all the corners. In reply to:
Well I think I might try making a plywood top within the next couple of weeks. I'd rather have a full top but I don't know how I'd fit the rounded corners on the back. Also I'll probably make a frame out of channel iron......
