I need some help with iding my york...the tag on it says: no M383127,p1 AMC5461585, build date 06/79 I checked out obi-wan's page to find out the stroke but his page says the number should look like ZZXXY, with XX being the stroke size, but no numbers looked anything, like that inculging all the stamped numbers any ideas would be greatly appericiated/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

Re: help with nyork id

Man you made me dig out an old manual.
I did'nt think there ever was a difference.
Did auto a/c for years and never heard of it. Lets see.......
I can't find any differences for crank , pistons, gaskets or head.
For the york or the tecumseh(cast iron)compressors other than external
pcs being alum. or HEAVY. My book(although old) says most(90%) internals
the same.
I could be wrong but I've never heard of this & I had to have "rebuilt"
hundreds of these over the years.
I guess you never quit learning.
