Re: Help with soft-top - won\'t go back on!

I got the same top. I start mine usually on the passenger side. I then half way get the hard pastic lined up and started from just above the door and work it and pop it into the slot by slapping it into the slot with the heel of my hand. After I get it about half way into the slot I go around to the other side and start where I left off popping the hard plastic piece into the slot. I've never had any problem with getting mine in by this method either hot or cold. You have to be careful and not slit the hard plastic when you are snapping it into the slot. It's a great top will buy another. I have had mine for three years now. Bestop will replace the Sunport front separately. Cost little ove $100.00. good luck, it helps either to be tall or have a small footstool or ladder.

Maybe the piece on the top of the targa is mounted to far towards the back. How tight does the rear section fit. If it's not real tight you may need to adust the piece on the top of the targa bar forward. It's held in by self tapping screws supplied by bestop with the top. After I installed mine three years ago I later replaced the plated screws with stainless steel screws. The mounting location is critical, just a suggestion. I doubt if the Sunport is sized wrong.
