Every time I think I'm going to stop asking for help on this seemingly endless quest for emmissions soundness (is that a word 'soundness'?), I find myself in dire need of asking again.

If you know what this picture that is circled is.... please let me know... thanks

Well I am not positive, but that looks like the port on the side of the intake manifold just below the carb, and just above the EGR. There is a threaded hole in the intake and the circled item screws into the hole. The circled item has a small port for 1/4" tubing coming out of the side and a large port that is either plugged or has a connector for the power brakes. Let me know if I have been unclear.

EDIT: The 1/4" port provides manifold vacuum for the distributor advance, and the other items down the line in the diagram.
