Okay folks, I need some help, and not all of it is Jeep related but please bear with me... I need someone from Nevada, preferably Reno/Carson City area, to give me some info, and maybe send me a local paper. I'm getting ready to move to the area, and I'd like to get a head start on the search for jobs, houses, and obviously, places to 'wheel. Any info would be helpful, as I have never been to Nevada before, and have had little experience with this whole relocation thing. Thanks to all of you who can help. I'm sad to be leaving Cali, and even more upset about what has become of this state, but at this point, it's on to better things. Thanks again, and happy Jeepin'!

Re: From Nevada? Read This!!

Most obvious wheelin' destination near Reno would have to be the Rubicon. Congrats on moving to a most scenic part of the world. Don't live there, but I've visited /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif.

Re: From Nevada? Read This!!

Thanks for the info so far... I still need to hear from someone in (or near) Nevada that can either give me some info, or send me a local newspaper. Maybe some of CJDave's Moon guys /wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/shocked.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/cool.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/laugh.gif can help...Thanks again everyone, and happy Jeepin'!

Well Spyder having moved from cal 7 years ago to reno i will let you in on some info most of the jobs in the paper are for casino work and don't pay much over min wage you need to knock on some doors. I don't know what type of work you are looking for but most of it is word of mouth the more people you know the faster you will find work. If you want to rent in reno most places want a 1 year lease because so many people stay a short wile and leave again. As for wheeling it deponds on what type you are looking for rocks Rubicon, serria trek and lots of trails that don't make the bb, if you like to check out ghost towns and old mineing areas the state is covered with them ther are more wheeling places than i could write about check out the comstock 4 wheelers if you are looking to join a club thay have monthley jeep runs and allow any type of vehicle to join (Good People) As for missing Cal I havent missed it for one min the longer you are in nevada the better it gets. If I can be of any help let me know good luck

When you get up here, I've got the killer Jeep club for you to join if interested. Lake Tahoe Hi/Lo's was established in 1966. We have the Tahoe side of the Rubicon as one of our adopted trails. We currently have about 70 active members and the club is dedicated to wheelin. Hope your move goes well.
