I know that in the samurai, there is a problem with leaves getting sucked in over the heater core creating a big heat problem I'm not sure if the tracker has a similar problem. Is there any air being blown through at all or is it just cold air blowing. I had a problem on my last zook that the cable broke in the enigine bay but was snug on something so I thought it was on heat when it really was cold. I bought a haynes manual (which if you don't have one you should get.) and followed all the lines and cables till I found the problem. That also might help you track down the flap you might be asking about. Sorry I don't have a full answer but I think I got you started.

After checking the above, also check the thermostat. If its still blowing air, but cold air, make sure all the ducting is intact, and swap in the highest temperature thermostat you can find. Mine took FOREVER to warm up, until I replaced the coolant and the thermostat.

Thanks for the reply, We get lots of heat from the dash "One of those Burn your face & Freeze your feet" I got a manual from the library and it only showed the complete heater, no cable linkage or flaps. I don't know if I should start taking the dash out or work from the engine compartment when it might just be a loose cable. Thanks Vic.

This might not be completely helpful since I am not sure if your dash is like mine (95 2dr softtop tracker) but you can take out almost all of the center of the dash pretty easily. Pull the knobs off the HVAC controls, unsnap the fascia for it and you should see a couple screws. Take them out. Then remove the radio and you should be able to more or less see whats "inside" the dash and maybe you can follow the linkage from the feet/face/defrost lever to wherever it goes. It might really be nothing more than some little arm that fell out of its hole after a retaining clip fell off or something like that.

Physically taking out the dash is kind of an ordeal, but you should be able to take out most of whats in the middle without too much trouble. Hopefully that will uncover your problem.

I'm thinking you might have the problem I had oiginally in my 410. Nne of the control cable housings
has sliped out of the barbed clip that keeps the end of the cable housing in place. If you get the
dash out, even partially tilted out, look at both ends of the control cables and fiddle with the controls.
Housings will be moving besides the control cable itself. On the lever end, just jam it back in to full
depth. and barbs should grip it, unless they have gone to some sort of clamp. Usually the other end
is clamped in my experiace with other non Trackkick zuks.
