has anyone ever tried relocating their leafs inboard for more flex. i was thinking of positioning them directly under the U-channel. also, because i'll be fabing the front mount and rear shackles, i can play w/the height a little. instead of having to re-weld the spring perches...i believe a YJ d35, or maybe an 8.8 might line up perfectly.
what do ya'll think, anyone?
does anyone know the distance inbetween spring perches on a d35 YJ, or an 8.8?

If you mount your springs inboard it will be like installing much weaker springs when the suspension flexes because the wheels will have a much longer lever arm over the spring mounting points. You will have to significantly strengthen them or they will feel flimsy when your suspension flexes and after they are strengthened, your truck will ride like a brick on the road. Personally I think a four link with coil overs is a better setup but then I don't have alot of 4X4 experience. Actually now that I think about it a very sturdy torque arm and coil over setup would be awesome. You would have all the flex you could want. You would have to use a watts link setup but it would be the ultimate rearend!

This is just my opinion, but I wouldnt do it if you drove it on the road a lot. I was thinking about doing this after I saw Butchers TJ leaf spring post, but I drive too much on the road. You would deffinately get some crazy flex though.
