Guages: Mechanical vs Electrical

Which is a better gauge to use, a mechanical one or an electrical one? Which are easier to install, more accurate, more reliable, etc...

electric are easier to install, mechanical are more accurate.

I agree that mechcanical are more accurate. The standard plastic tube that comes with a mechcanical oil pressure gauge scares the snot
out of me. I've too many of these crack do to getting brittle with age. On mine I have a braided stainless steel hose to go from the fitting on the
block to the back of the gauge. You can get these from Auto Meter. Now I just have to find the time to install it.

The new electrical gauges are pretty accurate. If they are note as accurate as mechanical then I'd say they are pretty close. I would go electrical since they are so much easier to route and maintain of necessary.
