Grill conversion for \'89 K1500. Help!

I want to convert my 1989 Chevrolet K1500 pickup grill to look like the 1994-1998 grill. I have spent quite a bit already on the grill, headlights, wiring harnesses, side markers, and lower filler plate. It still doesn't match up, and the person I bought this "conversion kit" from said this is supposed to convert my '89 to look newer. If anyone has the information on how to do this I would really appreciate it. I am really stuck here, and my truck isn't driveable with the front end apart like this.

You need the 1994-98 grille itself, headlights, turn signals, corner lenses (inc. side markers), and a bowtie. And of course you'll have to do some wiring. That's about it. The grille will bolt right up.

I have everything you just listed. The only part that bolts right up is the top. On the '89 grill the brackets along the bottom are molded to the grill itself. On the '94-'98 model that I have, the brackets that bolt to the truck are on the filler piece that is below the grill and the grill sits on it. The outside holes of the filler piece do not line up, also the filler piece does not seem to fit behind the bumper like the original.

Put the filler on the grille first, then put it in the truck. The grille bolts up with a couple bolts behind the turn signals, a couple up under the hood, and there're on in the middle lower part of the grille, I can't think of the others right now, but I don't use em anyway, 4 bolts is enough for me, as much as I take the thing off.
