Howdy,
My father's 1999 Suzuki GV is starting to approach 30K miles. Yep, he really drives it alot! Anyways, he wants me to perform the 30K mile service on it when I get back from the Honduras. He went to his local dealer today for some recall work and he wasn't too impressed with them. He wrote, " the dealership appearend to be run by the three stooges!"

Here is my question. I remember looking through the owners manual and all it listed for the 30K mile service was filter changes, fluid changes and spark plug changes. Is that it? How difficult is it to replace the spark plugs. I've never worked on a coil-plug pack engine before so that's the only mystery I have about the actual service.

Pull a plug and check the code on it. Most GVs came with Denso or NGK Iridium plugs. If so, they usually last much longer than 30K.

And they are pricey, about $13+ each. More at the dealer.

Other than that, nothing. I recommend using the SGP filter. Using the right filter helps maintain proper lubing of the timing chain tensioners so they don't prematurely failing.
