Well the trip down to medford went off without a problem. Got the zuk down there and dropped it off for my 1.6 8V install. Boy was there some cool zuks there. One samurai had an awesome dark purple paint job sprung over with YJ's and missing links. It sat atop 33x12.5 wildcats. It was sharp, had a removeable hard top. Also got to see Brent's all dual rock buggy, and a couple of pieces of his next project, He didn't have a chance to tell me much but it was going to be purple and he had an awesome looking bright yellow full roll cage sittin out front for it. Seeing all those awesome rigs made me wanna fix mine up more, but it'll be a while before I can mess with the suspension anymore. The motor install and fixin a few little things is gonna run 12-1300 bucks. Won't be able to shell out that much for awhile. Anyway just thought I'd brag about all the cool things I saw down there. Oh yeah the one samurai that had the 33's also had a 1600 16V sittin in it.

GRW:

I would love to swap in a 16 valve (currently running a 1.6L, 8 valve) - what was the cost of the engine, the harness, etc. minus the labor? I know it is expensive, but I was wondering about how much it went for.....???

Thanks!

Pug,
If you can find a 1600 16v I'll come up and help you put it in!! It's not that difficult to do, now that I've made all of the mistakes on my own!! I'd be glad to come up and give you a hand.Just keep an eye out for them, they'll show up at the most inopertune time though, like when you're broke!

Anytime anyplace HEDO, I think the 1600 16valve is the BEST swap out there. It has twice the power of the 1300 right out of the box,I can cruise at 70 mph on the highway with no straining what so ever. I just got my LWB back after the guy I sold it to wrecked it. I'm gonna drop the Isuzu TD in another truck since all the work is done and sell it on Ebay to fund my other projects.

My sami is the one on TT web site (pics of the 16V). I got a package deal. I can tell you it was about 2-300 more than a rebuilt 1600 8V (with cam & shipping) was going to cast me. That 2-300 does not include install on the 8V (I was planning on doing it my self). My 16V had 3000 miles on it, so it was comperable as far as miles go. I didn't get a price for just the engine and harness.
