Wow Jimmy,

You can't beat free can you? I personally love stick welders especially for fabricating work. Nice for skid plates/crossmembers, bumper fabrication etc. I'd love to get my hands on a nice inverter say about 130-150 amps. The 90 amp ones are not too expensive, but anything over that amperage and the price shoots up!

My neighbor has got an antique oil filled Oxford welder. The bloody thing weighs a ton, but it does the job. He got it for next to nothing from a car boot sale. It is amazing what you can find cheap at those car boot sales over here. I normally borrow an inverter from one of my old employers when I need to weld anything. These are soooo smooooth to weld with and you got the advantage of being able to weld TIG as well if you've got the attachments.
