Do ALL GM 250cid I6 motors from 76-82 have the HEI distributor?

Yes, even the 75 can be used, the 75 has an external mount coil and you could use a coil from an fuel injection car.

The GM HEI can be used until 1984. I work at a parts store so I looked on the computer and it's the same distributor until 1984. All the parts including cap and rotor and module, etc...... It all is the same.
So you should be able to find it on any van truck or car with the 250 inline 6.

Thanks to both of you. I've been searching for two sets - they aren't easy to find any more, but it seems like a very worthwhile upgrade.
