I searched and didn't find an answer. It may be a dumb question, but does the G80 lock in reverse or just when going forward? I have a 14 bolt and I know it works going forward but noticed this past weekend while going backwards only one tire would spin. Thanks for the info.

I think it only works in forward aswell. Reason being, for the first time a couple weeks ago I did a nice smokey burn out forward and it left a 30ft patch with both tires, then I kinda floored it in reverse and only one tire left a mark. Ya I have one too.

Nope its a 10bolt and I grind my teeth everytime I do something stupid.. But I really have only did it once on dry pavement, when I do stupid stuff its usaully on wet sandy/gravel roads and other off road terrains.
Anyone know if a halfton 14sf out of the 1500hd crewcabs would work in mine? Thats what I'd like to get when my dies, because I'd also get disc

If you mean 1500 HD as the newer one with that name, and not the older ones with the higher GVWR (or whatever the abreviation is) , that won't work. The newer 1500HD's are 8 lug. Be careful doing stuff on wet pavement, because a spinning tire going from wet to dry pavement is a good way to break $hit. Quick traction gains just kill things like axle shafts....

It works in reerse on my truck. two perfectly even lengthed black marks about 10-12 feet long in my shop parking lot. Did this just two nights ago. This is on a 14FF axle with no additive added to the rear since i have owned it. and yes the fluid has been changed many times.

My guess would be that it only works while going foreward. One thing to remember about reverse bunrouts or thing like them. The G80 has a reputation for breaking stuff, when it engages it can be quite harsh, everything is much weaker in reverse. If you put that together, a G80 in reverse makes me just cringe, especially if it does engage suddenly.
