A couple good points were brought up in a post recently about the use of rod ends for steering. One issue was that they had no protection from the elements, and that in the event of a seperation the bolt head could pull through the rod end body. Although I haven`t expeirenced any problems due to contamination, I had not given ANY thought to the seperation issue. The good news is that I`ve found a solution to both problems at www.pro-werks.com. They manufacture seals for rod ends from 5/16" through 3/4" and make what they refer to as "Safty Washers", that do double duty by retaining the rod end after a seperation, and acting as a mis-alignment bushing alowing full joint movement. Unfourtunatly their product can only be purchased through one of the distributers listed at their web site. I hope this is of help to someone.
