If you notice in the picture that I posted with the boat and the cliff, the wheels are jacked to the left, as if he was trying to avoid going over the cliff at the last second, I guess he messed that one up pretty bad. I wonder if he got out alright, and how in the world that hitch help his truck.

unreal. I've seen that excavator one around but not the other. That guy maybe was parked there, see a stang parked in the same manner then put it in drive and drove off. Either way what a dumbass. Many people don't think about how a trailer adds to the stoping distance even if they have trailer brakes.

My guess on the boat one would be that since it's only a 1/2 ton truck that the back end heavy boat started swaying back and forth and he lost it and went off the cliff... I've seen it happen alot... Thats why I don't tow with 1/2 tons.

I actually got to see a track hoe get stuck kinda in a river/creek like that just not as bad. He was only up to just the tops of the tracks. Had to get a big assed crane to pluck him out from what I hear. Kinda shut the whole project down for a wee bit. The state was a tad bit pissed aboput that too. It was a bridge project that went a bit longer than scheduled.

Our lakes around here usually freeze to about 18" or more thick with ice each year (FYI for you southerners: you can safely drive on 12"), but for some reason part of one our local lakes never froze this year. I wish I had pictures of all the vehicles that went through the ice near the open spot this year. I'll see if I can find some and post them.
