What I am wondering is this: Can the full steel doors from a TJ be put on a YJ. Mine are shot (rusted and cracked where the window frame meets the door), and I don't just want to inherit somebody elses problem, when the design flaw is still there (and will crack in time). I wouldn't mind getting rid of the wind wing either. Hence the quest for a better door. Any thoughts?

I think the doors are pretty similar and would swap except for the tj's have a different lock mechanism. I have a cj so I dont know if the tjs
catch mechanism can be put on a yj or not. I heard that is was a big deal to try to put tj doors on a CJ. I assume it would be areal pain on the
yj's also.

no way that they would fit the doors on TJs are totally different from YJ CJ doors which are interchangeable for post 82 models

Mark is correct. YJ and TJ are very different doors. Don't even waste time trying.

some of the older yj doors have wing windows... but i am a "only when it's REALLY cold do i put doors on at all" kind of guy
