not exactly new here but new to posting on here. but heres my problem:

87 sammy, 1.3, webber carb
starts up and runs fine but started cutting out like its running out of gas couple weeks ago. only does it after engine warms up and dosent do it every time but does it most of the time. ive changed fuel filter, cleaned the filter on the carb, ive been running premium gas in it for a while anyway and added a can of gas treatment. i have a fuel pump ordered, i dont think thats the problem but im gonna try it.

the stuff ive tried has helped some with the sluggishness but when going down hill it backfires then its sluggish when i step on gas again. but has no heitation if i open the carb up all the way. Sometimes it'll run rough then it'll run great for 15 minutes or so then rough again

Any ideas?

has the rig ever run really well with the weber carb?? If so, then the jets are dirty/clogged. we run lots of webers here on VW's... similar issues when running in the sand for days at a time. Beneath the top plate of the carb are 2 jets that are the air correction jets...these gets bits of grit in them so that it messes with the way the carb runs overall. Now I've made the assumption that you're running the downdraft version like a 32/36 DGEV DGVA CLICK for diagram
