The problem is when I lock the front hubs when in 4L The wheels do not want to turn as in right or left. unlock hubs leave in 4L and wheels turn fine. Any suggestions or where to start. This happens on everything, flat dirt, rocks ,sand, pavement. Almost made me run off a cliff Because I could not turn around a curve.

Whats in the front pumpkin? Spool? Lincoln locker of some sort? Sounds like its locked up whether you
did it or not.

Hmm reread your post and I'm thinking birf now. Worn to the point that they lock under load.

I have lock rite lockers. They were working great till I did the 3-link suspension. The lockers still pull foward and reverse but will not turn mostly to the left. I locked the front did a complete circle to the right. I then turned left onto the dirt road no problems yet. While going around a small left corner, It just bearly turned to keep me form going off the edge of a cliff.

I would check the freewheeling of both the front and rear locker you should be able to turn the pinion one way and turn one whrrl one way and the otherr should be able to turn freely you will need to experiment to get the combo right

are you running a panhard bar with your 3 link?

I am guessing that between your locker and 3 link when you turn you are actually moving that axle side to side instead of turning the wheels. If you do have a panhard bar how level is it when sitting still, is it close to parallel to the axle, if not that would be why you may be able to turn one way better than the other.

I just looked at your pictures, nice setup but that panhard bar is at a fairly steep angle. I would try to find a way to make it more level. Have someone sit in it and turn the wheel while you watch the front end, see if the rig moves back and forth instead of your wheels turning. do it out on some grass or something grippy, if you do it on your garage floor, air your tires down to get more grab so you can try and reproduce real trail conditions without taking it out.

Yes I have a panhard bar. I just took the rig out in the road in front of my house and locked everything up. Turned the tires maby 2" would not turn anymore. Both directions was the same result. My front end did not rise or fall as moving the axle back and forth. My panhard is not that bad of an angle as I now have over the top steering. The picture on my website is an old one. Unlocked and everythings rolled a few feet and everything was ok. Tires turned easy with my toy steering.

Also, kinna blip the throttle a little bit, you'll feel the front locker unlock, works great for about 2', then blip again

Turning with a locker in the front can be a biatch!

I went back test drive 3. I think you might be right. When locked the front end is tight too tight. I think I will have to go through the barfs and pumkin and check everything. The front worked sweet before the over the top steering/3 link. I might of jacked something up when i did the OTTS. Even with a toy p0ower steering it does not want to turn.

Had a little time today. I put jack stands under axle front and back. I locked the hubs and put it in 4L. The wheels turned great also the steering. (no noises). I then removed both axle. The birf was in great shape no damage or signs of wear. There was no metal shavings or chunks of metal in the grease. I called the locker company today and they said that if sounded like the wheels are not unlocking to turn. The pin repair kit is 15.00 bucks for hardened pins. Tomorrow I will pull the pumkin and hope I find the problem

Well I pulled the rest for the front end apart and found only one thing that was missed up. No not the lockers they were in good and not even worn. I found something worse. THE #@$#% ring gear has a broken tooth. I hope this was the problem with the front end but I do not think so. Any one have a YUKON 5.38 ring gear for sell cheep. I know that the ring and pinion is a matching set but ????

I can't say if that'd be your problem or not. I'm pretty much stumped but it doesn't take much for that to occur. But, THANK YOU for continuing to update us with your progress. It drives me nuts when I have a problem and I find people with similar problems but they don't post the progression -- and worse -- the resolution of the problem. It doesn't happen much, but it doesn happen.

Let us know...
