I own a '95 Tracker 1.6L with 16v. I removed the driver side front hub to clean and lubricate the entire mechanism. I put all back together but hub will not lock in. I took it off and redid the entire reinstallation once again, but same results. Help!

Sarge, the collar you are refering to. Is it the metal ring that slides over the inside of the dial? By that I mean the the outer plate, with the dial, that must be turned to engage the hub? Yes, you are correct. I do need a good comprehensive manual to guide me. Thanx for the input!

Hubs..

Will give it a try tomorrow, I hope. Got a flash burn in my eyes from welding. Feels like sand in them. Yes, I know. I'm suppose to wear a helmet. But, stuff happens! Will keep you all posted of my head way.

Ack! Thanx a ton!

That is what I have been looking for. Will get busy now that I can focus my eyes without feeling like they are full of western Montana gravel. Flash burn is getting much better. Anyway, thanx again!!

Hubs are fixed....Finally!

Well, the flash burn was nothing compared to the pain in my back I'm finally getting over. Or can deal with anyway. Hobbled out to the shop this AM. Bored out of my skull due to throwing my back out sometime back. Not because I was blind from flash burn. Sat down to my bench with a cup of hot Joe. Cleaned all parts of both front hubs. Followed Acks instructions and got both hubs back as they should be. Got the bride to help me set on my creeper and installed both with new gaskets and newly painted. Tried 'em up on the access to the trailhead east of here. They work great! Thanx to Ack and all that replied! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
