i'm looking at buying a '89' gmc jimmy and it has a bad slip spline yoke on the front drive shaft. where do i go to find one. i've checked all the site sponsers. mabye i'm calling this part by the wrong name. this must be a common problem because i looked at a "86" yesterday with the same problem, my best guess is that this is also found on half ton pickups

well im going to drive this jimmy tommorrow. i also drove one saturday. the sat. jimmy had either the splines worn or the female part internal splines wore out , because when power braking on ice the rear tires spun and the shaft from the transfer case to the slip joint turned but the front half didnt. the jimmy im driving 02/10/04 has quite a bit of play at the slip joint. i think i just need to be ready to fix this . also i'm going to be looking for a boot to cover the slip joint.

thank you for

your replys

also i forgot there is a local shop that could fix it
