For my project..

Does anyone know of a free or cheap MJ in central New England neighboorhood? I am in North Central Mass and can do a fair amount of travel for the right truck.

Condition/color/engine etc. means almost nothing. I simply need a good rear end (cab back). And that doesn't even need to be perfect.

I know about Ebay and the WantAd etc.. but like I said, I am looking for cheap to free!

Thanks

I just moved from Bedford Mass to Texas. When I was there I went to Hollands Used Auto for all my XJ needs. I remember before I left (September '03) that he had 2 MJ's in good shape out there. His prices were always really good as well. I think he wanted $200 or less for a Bed a year back that we put on a buddies truck. If your interested the place is in Billirica Mass on Treble Cove Rd.
Good Luck.

I THINK I know where that place is.

$200 is a decent price for a bed from a yard.

I ronically I noticed that my neighbor a couple houses down has an MJ that hasn't moved in a looong time. Perhaps my travel will be very easy!

I work up the street from Hollands and I live in Westminster, MA. PM me if you want me to swing over there to see what they have. I've been there a couple of (million) times
Also, go on Car-part and look through the northeast. There are several places in lower NH and South Central Mass that have half decent prices.

CC - I'll give you a shout if/when I go up there. I live right over in Templeton.

The project is being paused right now. I might get a rough (but FREE) flat fender Willys.

But I am still slowly searching. I am first working on cleaning out the garage so I have a place to put this crap first!

I'll do so

I tried to buy the MJ this weekend but the dick never called me back.

I am shooting to get some stuff started after New Years.

Hey.. do you have a new style blue/grey Cherokee, some sort of NOT factory axles, and some kind of "Indiglo" dashboard?

I saw one on the way past Fitchburg toward Gardner last Monday. Looked nice!

She's still pretty!

I saw an MJ for sale this weekend. Right in my proce range.

I took a good look at it and the "frame" appears identical to the Cherokee MINOR differences. But having seen this I have decided I might well "save" myself some trouble and put an extra cab on an MJ instead. I have made another post to get some measurements.

I suspect the MJ's frame has some super squirrel secrets to allow it to keep/add rigitity with out the full uniboidy. So it may be beneficial to base the project on the MJ instead. Plus, I have to do the research first, but I THINK that the MJ will fall under the "truck" emissions standards which give me more flexibility for future engine upgrades.
