i was changing the gear oil in the 8.8, and was extremely suprised how much gear oil was in there.. there must have ATLEAST been 4 quarts in there.. i've got a TA performance cover as well.. so about how much gear oil should be in there? the amount in there just seemed excessive.. thanks

This may be a stupid question, but I haven't spent much (any) time with my 8.8 since I got it and put it in the garage. /wwwthreads_images/icons/frown.gif I will get to it soon, hopefully.

I don't recall a fill plug on the diff cover. How do you fill this thing up? I seem to remember one on top of the axle tube - is this the fill plug?

yep, the filler hole is on the front side of the diff. No drain hole
I'm right with you Pete. I did get my perches ground off mine but that's it. I am waiting until I can afford a locker then I will finish the swap.
