Ok, I am back from the families Christmas trip and got some stories about the bigfoot hunt I went on. On the drive up (Fri Night). Our convoy of 3 Land Rovers took a old logging road right off the highway. The trip up the windy forking roads took around 2 hours. When we got to base camp we sent up the tents and just crashed. The next morn we got up to a really misty morning. No rain, but low lying clouds, we set out to set up cameras and set the sent trapps, they were strips, the guys said they were Ape Sex Smells or somthing. But we got back to camp around 4, set up the very large mega phone on top of the trailer, tested out the cameras and waited. Right when the sun was setting we blasted Sasquatch recordings and since I am a baseball player they gave me a very heavy lead filled bat, and I beat on the side of a tree every 30 seconds. I guess they say they hear that in the woods all the time and claim its Sasquatchs comunicating locations. The sound really traveled, a low sound that went out accross the mountains. When it got to be barley any light left and I had stoped hittin the tree for about 30 min, we heard the same thing from a mount acrros the valley, then another from a differnet location. That creeped me out. At these thumps only went on for about 10 min. We set out to check the traps and nutin was touched, so we changed the sent strips and set out cat food in other locations. Next morn we woke up and started the process all over agian, checked traps, hit trees lol, blasted bigfoot sounds, nutin. I was gettin board and wanted to go home when just at dusk, we heard the thumps agian, this time alot closer. Thats when it started to get creepy and fun. We blasted the screams, and heard very very low rumbles, almost growls. Very low so we couldn't judge distance. At 9 we heard a version of the screams that we were playin just outside our camp, I could hear something very, VERY big moving around the perimiter of the camp. I could tell it was big becuase of the sticks it was snapping and just the over all sound of it crashing through the bush. Now sounds except the movemnet. We turned on the spot lights but heard nothing run off and saw nothing. Our camp was in a clearing about a 40 foot dia. circle and we had our stuff and the fire right int he center. Half of us went to check the traps and half stayed at camp, I wanted to freakin see what was out there so I went, the cat food was gone, and the ground was covered in sticks, leaves and moss, so we couldn't find any footprints. Set up the traps agian and then right on the way back we heard the loudest scream all weekend. Scared the hell outta me and the 4 other guys, we hauled ass back to camp and everybody was laughing, they turned the speaker up real loud to mess with us. But in doing so it must have attracted some bigfoot cause we heard screams for the next hour. Right when we were gettin ready for bed the crunching sticks came back, this time with that low rumbling growling. We couldn't see anything agian, but it seemed like there were more than one objects just past our feild of veiw. Which in the redwoods is very short. While there was commotion going on we could almost make out shadows, but one of these shadows that we could tell were the growls were coming from acted like it charged, it came right to the edge of the clearing and we busted all the spots on it and right when they came on we saw somthing very large take off paralel to us, we only saw it for a split second, to short to really comprehend what it was, but the other guys startin making crap up sayin they saw arms, but it was to fast to tell any detail. From then on the rumbles and the motion around us slowly faded out. I tell ya what it all ended at around 4 in the morn, and I didn't sleep a wink till daylight when we packed up and came down the mountian. All the reast of that night I layed there and heard every small little twig break and every noise, its hard to say what was out there, but if I was ever a doubter on the subject. That convinced me totally. Next Expo is in a month or 2. Sorry to type a whole essay here. But if ya stuck through the whole thing tell me what ya think it was..............and don't go tellin me its a bear. No way in hell it was a bear, and SUnday night when there was more than 1, that couldn't have been more than 1 bear, and whne the large shadow kinda charged the camp? No Bear. What do ya think it lurking around in the deep woods of the Pacific Northwest?

I freind co-worker of mine, is a big-ffot fanatic, swears he has seen one, and is always filming and photographing things in the woods, things he says are 'signs' of a bigfoot.

pretty funny, if you ask me, but he is sure serious about it.

he tells me that stick beating is a territorial warning, and the broken limbs are marking the area.. fwiw...lol

Cool I wish I could go on a big foot hunt like that. I have one ?? if there were big foots around don't you think a hunting trail cam would have got a picture by now, don't get me wrong I think your trip was neat, but hear in wisconsin we have had some big foot hunts and we have deer hunters with trail cams out every where and know one has a picture of big foot. Trail cams take pictures 24 hrs a day,I have pictures of deer & bear, and people on mine.

Sounded like fun. If you'ld have gone in a jeep I think that you would have had better luck, though

I have a few things to say-

It did warp your mind rideing in a Land cruiser, what are you thinking man?

2nd I bet that it is fun screwing with big foot hunters.

3rd You really should do some resarch before waisting all your money chasing bigfoot, he doesn't exist, the creator came out and admitted it! (as I said the last time you posted about it)

with that said If you dont care about the above and are just looking for a good time, then have fun, but DRIVE A JEEP NEXT TIME.

tonyscj5, be careful when making absolute statements like "he doesnt exist" theres been more than one situation in history where people have all been convinced of one fact only to have a few people prove them wrong. (not saying one way or the other, just a good rule of thumb)

Mox,
sounds like a good time. some pointers for nixt time:

1) set up trail cameras at regular intervals and along trails on the perimiter of the camp. they arent THAT expensive that a few of the local enthusiasts couldnt afford them. learn to use them properly so you get a good picture of bigfoot (or the people messing with you)

2) maybe keep the next mission lower profile so less people would know about it and want to mess with you. i dont know what area is like out there but i can only imagine a more covert approach would benefit more that a high profile one

3) maybe try going during a few days of the week,....use vacation days or something. that way less people would be ni the woods since they have to work...would reduce the risk of gettign messed with, or other people scaring away bigfeet.

4)rig yourself a perimiter so tight that a Special ops team couldnt get near you. i'm taking trip wires that set off signals to you guy as to the location relative to you. lots of trail cameras (again). those cameras are one of those things that could easily and quickly solve the debate. put night sensitive cameras in a bunch of places around the camp....when you hear noise, trigger the cameras. in that direction.

just my two cents but it seems there could be a lot better planning and organising if you guys were really intent on finding one of these things if they exist. maybe I'm just anal about that kinda stuff, but i'd run a tighter ship

Was it at the time he was listed in Guinness as the oldest living man in the world?

Bigfoot [a.k.a. Abominable Snowman of the Himalayas, Mapinguari (the Amazon), Sasquatch, Yowie (Australia) and Yeti (Asia)] legends have been around since the mid 19th century. There was a video several years ago that was questioned but I don't remember ever hearing that the creator admitted it was a fake.

Maybe you were thinking of crop circles? Somebody came out and claimed credit for those but all he could create were only the simplest ones. Later, a group came out and claimed responsibility but there was doubt about them doing any really complex ones too.

Gee - never thought about roasting a snipe.

I've heard eating them will intensify your wife's or girlfriend's sex drive by nearly 100 times!
Doggone, I wish someone would help me catch one!!!!!

Seems the best way to catch Bigfoot is leave out cookies and milk for him. If he eats some, you'll know he was there. Works for Santa doesn't it?

I applaud your sense of adventure and quest for knowledge of the unknown. I'm putting the odds at slim to none of someone finding evidence of a bigfoot when it's been scarce so far, but you really don't know.

Can anyone provide any followup on the this report that a perpetrator of a hoax admitted it? I hope it's not in reference to that famous motion picture footage of the siloute of one crossing an opening in the woods. I'm sure there has been plenty of jokers that ran around pressing footprints into the soil to have some fun, but I always wondered about that film footage of what appeared to be an ape man.

As for any suggestion that bigfoot belongs to only some region of the states, to add to what Taz has said, bigfoot has been reported in BC as well.

Okay Okay Okay..... You are right somethings are public misconceptiosn, some common beliefs are proven wrong, but....

I live near Mox, one county away, and the Big Foot thing is fairly big around hear. We have just about every thing named after big foot, we even have a big foot golf course! But their was a fairly long series of articles in the local paper a while back where a family from the willow creek area told the "real" bigfoot story. In short- they said that they grandfather told had been the creator of big foot, and had told them about it but would not let them tell any one about it. Evidently he was embaressed that the whole thing had blown up so big, and didn't want to admit it was all a hoax. He said he dressed up in the big foot suit, and made the big foot foot prints and all the other stuff. When the old guy passed away a few years ago his family came out and told the truth.

I guess that we shouldn't believe all that we hear, and if it wasn't for people like Mox, we would be stuck getting our info from a one sided newspaper.

Personally I think that the families story is more believable then all the big foot hype, but I am definetly not an expert, and I would love to be proven wrong.

Good luck searching, but I wouldn't make it your life's journey.

Where do they get their lead filled bats?

They probably stayed away because of the Rovers = foreign cars. Those Bigfoot(s) are Americans. Use a Jeep as suggested.

One thing's for sure - it's an excuse to get out of the city and enjoy the back country.

Just looks like they drilled em out and filled em with lead. We used wooden bats with a lead core on my college baseball team for the on deck circle.

Huh? Bigfoot did? Wow! I guess we haven't given Bigfoot credit for being as advanced as that.
Do you suppose Bigfoot got the drills from Harbor Freight? Maybe the bats from Walmart?

If they paid by credit card there may be a way of tracing his address? Sure would save quite a bit of effort trying to run across him in the woods.
