Flat towing suggestions

I am flat towing my 79 CJ 7 from Detroit to Attica, In for a badlands run this weekend. It will be towed by a Dodge v10 dualie. Mt only real specific question is if I should leave the steering column locked so the front wheels cannot turn, or if I should leave the ignition on so they are free to move. I am removing the rear driveshaft for the tow. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. The trip is aabout 350 mile I think.

I would leave the steering colum unlocked. It alows the front wheels to turn so that you don't wear down those tires.

You can't borrow a trailer? Soni Honnegar (sp?) flat-towed his "Rock Spider" to an event in Southwest Missouri behind a dually Dodge & it looked really funny.
