Fiberglass or Steel

I recently purchased a 78 K5 that has the typical Chevy rust on the rear fenders above the wheels and in the kick panel. Will I be better off in the long run to replace these areas with new steel and if so, where can I get the replacement panels?
Thanks

One thing about fiberglass is that it will have a tendecy to crack over the years due to vibration, sun and minor bashing. The good part is, if you don't mind the painting, you can patch it up easily.

I don't know what kind of wheeling you do, but I would try to go with steel. I don't know of any places off the top of my head -- sorry...

One thing about replacement steel is that you generally get what you pay for. If you want the best quality, you'll have to pay through the nose for genuine GM stuff. But, you can do okay with the cheaper aftermarket stuff IF you're careful about it. MOST people use aftermarket parts, including most reputable body-repair shops.
