Does anyone run the F-head 134? Is it okay for running in the woods, mud, etc...? I only want to drive short distances, and take it off-road.

I have the opportunity to buy and rebuild two of them for my 1959 CJ-5 and don't know if I should.

I had a 56' M170 (CJ6 size) with the F134, great engine. I had it for 5 years and never registered it bacause it was a farm vehicle. I used it for logging and general farm stuff, never needed to go on pavement/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif. The biggest advantage was the gearing, it had 5.38s'. I would say that the f134 is very capable as long as you have the right gearing/wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif.
