i was interested in putting 2 wide/ 1 foward a-arms
on my 96 banshee to improve the handleing, west coast
cycle built a banshee and said that by going 1
foward on the a-arms makes the banshee handle the
same or if not better then a trx250r.because it
changes the weight distribution.is this true? now my
main question is if i go 2 wider on the a-arms will
i have to have my shocks revalverd and replace the
springs? because of the wider stance, i have heard
that i did. i have WORKS dual-rate w/cans. is this the way to go for better handling and jumping on the mx track. if there is a better set up let me know

Re: extenderd a-arms(hey cleartoy!)

I have 2, 2 a-arms on my bike and it made a big difference in my ride. I don't feel every bump and rock. My friend has the same
Year banshee that I do, and after riding my bike and then jumping on his, there is just a huge difference. My friend likes my ride so
much better that he is getting ready to buy a set himself. I ride mostly in the desert at glamis. But I just started to race on a motorcross
track. My bike isn't really setup for this so it is tough to turn. My arms are mostly made for the desert. my bike sits higher now. I have more
ground clearance. I still have stock shocks on it and I didn't have to do anything to them. My friend let me borough a set of triple rate
Works Shocks with Rezzy's and they fit just fine. I bought mine from a Dean Sundhal, don't know if you have heard of him. Big time desert racer.
Anyways you can now buy them through www.rickystator.com They are only $450 and includes everything you need. Check them out.
Of course you will have to paint them, or get them chromed like I did.

i have had the worst troubles with the internet lately. Sorry for the late reply. I have 2" wider and 1" forward arms (4130 chromoly) and i am using the stock shocks and springs. Before i bought the arms, i softened the preload down to #1 from stock #3. After the arms, it swayed too much, so i put it back to the stock position of #3(middle). It corners better, handles the whoops much better and transverses the hills more stabily.

I deffinitely reccomend them, and if i had the dough, id get some Works shocks with resivoirs.

It has been said by 4wheel ATV action that 2 2 arms make the handling like that of a trx 250r, especially when combined with a -1"swing arm.

As for the price the other bruthha quoted you....make sure you know what youre gettin. Mild steel\D.O.M. is cheap......4130 chromoly is not. You get what you pay for.

I agree with you on, what you par for is what you get. I don't know for sure what they are made out of, but I do know that the 250R
a-arms that they sell are made out of 4130 and I believe that the banshee a-arms are made out of the same stuff. I do know for a fact
that the Tie rods are 4130. I have a front bumper made out of the same stuff. and let me tell you that both the a-arms and bumper have
been through hell since I put them on. I have been in some pretty bad crashes that the bike has ethier hit the front a-arms or the bumper
and they are still in perfect condition.

I don't want you guys to think that I am trying to sell them to you. Personally, if I had the money, I would have purchased the ones that
have been proven to last. Like the Laegers or the Roll Design. I am just trying to help you guys safe some money on products that have
worked well for me. I know everybody likes to have money. anyway just trying to give you guys more options.

Check them out for yourself. www.rickystator.com
there phone number is there too.

Re: extenderd a-arms(hey cleartoy!)

thanks for the input guys i took a look at the ricky stator a-arms they are made of cro-moly steels look pretty good for the price, laeger and roll design are so expensive. still i dont know if i will have to revalve and re-spring my works shocks? if you guy are using them with stock shocks how is it on the big hits off big doubles and tabletops or launching dunes? do they bottom out?thanks again for the help

Re: extenderd a-arms(hey cleartoy!)

I have never bottomed them out in the dunes. But some times I bottom them out on the mx track. But only to my own fault. If I land
wrong or I am in the wrong position they will bottom, but not that hard. You say you have works shocks. You shouldn't bottom those
out unless you are a pretty heavy rider. I weigh about 160. I tried a pair of triple rates on a mx track and didn't bottom out at all. If you
are going to ride mainly mx or cross country, i would probably try to find a set of a-arms that will lower you front end. It will help turn
better. Although having good shocks like yours also helps when you bike sits higher. If you are riding in the desert or want ground
clearance, then they are good a-arms. I love mine. Although I wish I had different ones for mx.

Re: extenderd a-arms(hey cleartoy!)

Hey bro, about bottomin out. Last trip out, i was goin down a dune, came up on a drop off, and i bottomed out to the point, that the skidplate(DG full chassis)@the front of the frame hit the sand pretty good. It was controlable though. That is with stock shocks and springs, with preload set on #3.

Hope that helps.

Re: extenderd a-arms(hey cleartoy!)

THE BANSHEE TWIN IS A SLIGHTY [slim] HEAVIER MOTOR. BY SHORTENING THE SWING-ARM [swinger] AN INCH AND GETTING A-ARMS [aback] THE ARE FORWARD AN INCH YOU ARE ESSENTIALLY MOVING THE WEIGHT TO A MORE CENTRAL LOCATION. THIS WILL IMPROVE HANDLING AND FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS. 2 INCH WIDER A-ARMS [aback] WILL GIVE YOU MORE STABILITY IN A FEW DIFFERENT GROUND CONTROL APPLICATIONS. YOU SHOULD BE FINE WITH WORKS DUAL RATE. I RUN THE LAEGER [Lafayette] 2+1 A-ARMS [aback] WITH WORKS TRIPLE RATE AND BELIEVE IT TO BE THE IDEAL SET-UP.

Re: extenderd a-arms(hey cleartoy!)

I have learned after puting the +2 arms on my banshee that you do indeed have to re-valve your shocks. they are fine if you dont jump more then 2 feet off the ground but they bottom out like crazy anything more then that.so if anyone reads this and you are thinking of putting +2 a-arm on your quad and you have aftermarket shocks get ready to spend another 150 buck on a re-valve.

Re: extenderd a-arms(hey cleartoy!)

Thanks for the input. I dont have the skills to jump more than 2 feet off the ground yet,so i never noticed. That is valuable info to me. Especially since down the road, i would consider Works with res.

Re: extenderd a-arms(hey cleartoy!)

I'm sure you have the skill but if you get works shocks with res. make sure you let them know you have +2 a-arms so they can valve them correctly. I dont know how the a-arms work with the stock shocks. but i am sure they soften them up some.
