I have a 94 Explorer, 4.0 V6 with 220k miles. Lately the truck is kinda difficult to start when warm. Starts fine cold but takes away to fire up when the engine has been running for a while.

I pulled the codes today and got a 335 on KOEO. According to my book, this is a "EGR sensor voltage out of range" fault. I tested the EVR unit and it seemed OK...voltage in and about 30 ohms resistance.

What will cause this error? Is it the Pressure Feedback Sensor? I'm not sure this is causing my restarting problem but I should repair it anyway.

Also, the KOER test yielded a 336, "EGR circuit higher than expected"

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks
Shawn

Re: Hot starting

I think I'll do a vacuum test and replace the coil...probably needs it anyway.

Thanks Steve

Re: Hot starting

I replaced the coil and that seemed to fix the hard starting problem when the engine is warm. Did a vacuum test and everything seems fine. Pulled the codes again and still getting a 335 code. Still not sure what it is or if it's worth finding...truck runs fine.
