Does any one know what the largest diameter of pipe can be mounted to the stock exhaust manifold on a 258(82-83). I have a 2" pipe now and would like to go to at least 2-1/4" if not 2-1/2" and continue for the whole exhaust. I haven't unbolted the flange to see if it can take a bigger pipe or not and I don't want to go to a header. Thanks.

I'd leave the flange alone and cut the existing pipe off about a foot or so from the flange, then it can be puffed out to a larger size and slipped into a big pipe
