Hi all. I have a '91 Wrangler with a stock 2.5L engine and 5 speed manual transmission. The engine has over 132,000 miles on it and is starting to show symtoms of some fairly major problems. I've search this forum and found some great suggestions and ideas that will help me keep the current engine running for another 6 to 9 months. At that time I would like to replace the current engine with a 4.0L I6. Finally we get to the questions! How straight forward is this swap? Will everything line up with my current transmission? Will I be able to keep the same gear ratios or will I need to change that too? Will it line up with the current engine mounts? Any and all information regaurding this procedure would be greatly appreciated. Including links to websites that have info on this topic. Thanks all!

Unless you have a lot of other mods into your rig, it will be a lot cheaper to go out and buy another Jeep with the 4.0 already in it. The nightmare you would have to go through - trans. swap, wiring, computer, motor mounts, radiatior, etc. - it's just not worth the time and money.
