Check the compression with the engine cold. Also check that the air filter is clean.

What is wrong with my ATC. I just bought it from a neighbor across the street ($150) and the ATC will not run reliably. I knew when i bought it would have some work to be done, but what is it? I have got it to run by bump-starting it 3 out of about 25 times. It is not start technique. The plug works, got fresh gas. What could it be?
