Currently, I'm running a "flex" fan attached to my 258. I'm stratch'en my head about switch over to an electric fan. Any ideas on brands and whether or not it's best to install the fan infront (between the radiator and grill) or behind the radiator. By switching over to electric, I'm hoping the get a little more ummph out of the motor, and having the option to turn it off at water crossing.

I'm running the two fans from an '88 Firebird (same car the TPI engine came from) behind the radiator
with no shroud and they work great. I have a snap on cover that closes off the entire grille for winter cold
spells and with temps less than about 40 deg., it still keeps the coolant on the cool side of the guage.
