EFI gas tank question...

I decided to install one of the 1.6's I have in my Zuk. I want to run the stock tracker pump but don't have an EFI tank in my Zuk. Has anyone modified there stock tank to fit the pump in?
I'm screwed one way or the other because a new tank is $250 and a ford pump is a little more....

Any ideas?

What's a little gas vapor getting in the way for? If done right, and you have the time, it's no problem. Bob and I cut up a perfectly good EFI tank when we did the dovetail.

Wash the tank out well with a Borax and water solution. Then, rinse well. Let the tank sit for a 6-8 weeks until all smell is gone. Good to go.

We removed the fill inlet from the side and moved it to the top, and welded over the old hole. Pressure test to ensure no leaks and go at it.

But most likely, you are trying to have this finished by Zookin. So if this is for you LWB, have you considered installing the larger Kick tank, since you have the room for it?

i had a pile of those ford inline efi pumps that are used for the efi swaps for sale really cheap here on the bbs last winter and never sold a one. i advertised them on izook and had them all sold in a couple weeks. i was selling perfect running used ones for only $15 and that included 2-day shipping to lower 48 states. i sold a couple "new" ones for only $40. why didn't you guys jump on the deals then?? btw, you should be able to buy a new one from the parts stores for a little over $60.

hummm.... what are you guys doing about the barrel that's inside the tank? Don't you bog out when low in gas and turning? I'd hate to be crawling and then starving the engine, would defeat the purpose of going EFI wouldn't it?Danny call the wreckers in the area a friend of mine just picked up a 91 EFI Samurai tank with fuel pump for $125... I can look at this end if you want
