Is the guy on ebay selling all the diamond plate panels on this board? If not, have you seen the stuff he's offering? He has plans to make a complete kit to seal off the bed, real window etc. Not too sure how useful that is, but some of his other stuff is kinda cool. Anyone have any experience with him?

THANKS!

I bought the tailgate panel from him (benjamin). There are two different guys selling treadplate aluminum parts. Benjamin does a great job, good quality, and he'll even do some custom stuff for ya if you need it. Heavy duty stuff too! I'll add more pieces in the future. It is thick too - 3/16", ...so I don't plan on doing door panels - just seems like toomuch.

I am making my own diamond plate for all the panels in my hardtop. When I am done I know I will have more money into it than if I purchased them on ebay. If I had checked before purchasing the raw materials, I would have gone the ebay route. Maybe people with access to cheaper raw materials would make out better. On the plus side, I am kind of enjoying doing the work.

I asked him no he does not. I just ordered his glovebox door and I ordered the D/P from the other seller on ebay. He sell out right I got the doors and rear wheel well panels for my hard top for 135 with shipping. they are both very professional and would do busness with either of them again.

I should the items next week.

I've met him. His mother lives in my neighborhood and I've seen his Sami from time to time and had the pleasure of talking to him in person.

As far as his quality, I'd say it's pretty good. However, I haven't seen anything else to compare it too. From what I saw on his truck it looked nice and I imagine that the ones he had on his truck were the early "test" pieces so I"m sure that it's only gotten nicer. He sells a ton of stuff on eBay that's for sure... I do agree about the thickness of the door panles. They do add a lot of weight to the door. I'm personally not into that but that doesn't detract from the quality. I'm currently drawing up plans for half doors and I'll see if he'll do the interior panels for me when I'm done. He's a nice guy and definately not out to screw anyone over.

When I bought my tailgate panel, there was a note in the box with instructions, at the bottom, it said if I needed any other pieces, let him know.... so I guess he would. Drop him an email - you can contact him thru ebay (send a message about an item), as they no longer give out the email address of seller. If I can find it in my stuff, I'll let you know.

Yankee Tim,
Is the the diamond plate crap we spent days bidding on E-BAy? You know the stuff that we over bid and never got because of an anonoymous bidder(being the owner)driving up the price to unheard of levels? You know that over priced plate stuff???

Hey thanks for all the info. Sounds like most are pretty happy with it. I'm not sure which of the seller's is Ben though, but I'll keep my eyes open. It looks like a lot of the stuff goes for a steal. Cheaper even than raw materials on some of it. My bed takes a beating and if I go with the Jeep Box storage I thought it would give it an "integrated" look. I don't mind the weight, I can use a little back there for the winters!

Wow, I didn't know you bid on any of that stuff. I think the stuff from Benj looks pretty good and 3/16" is probably the best available. I think the anonymous bidder you're thinking of was when I bid on those 4 Sammys in MA back a while. That one seemed shady.

If anyone can get me Ben's email addy, I'd appreciate it. I'd like to go with that on the inside.

Hey, if you ever have any doubts about stuff like that, just use the contact thing and let ebay know. They have "shill bidding" detecting software and they will investigate. Takes about a minute of your time. From what I've seen of the diamond plate stuff the guys are pretty straight forward. Some stuff goes pretty cheap. Besides you can always "snipe" 'em at the last minute so they can't outbid ya!

Ben's the guy out of Annapolis. The other guy's in Virginia. I've talked with him over the phone and he seems alright. I don't care much for his SPOA kits which he seems to sell as "complete" but which are really nothing more than perches. Other than that, he seemed alright when I talked to him.

I know Ben. He lives about 30 minutes from me. I have the full set of panels and the only thing I have found wrong with them is the door panels are a little too thick. With the door panels being that thick, the soft plastic washer that go behind the window cranks gets flattened out and one of them cracked. He will sell the complete set for $210 plus shipping last I talked to him. I found it cheaper to bid on the pieces individually on eBay and saved the shipping by driving up and picking the pieces up myself. Not so easy for the guys that live out west though. I paid $70 for the doors, $52 for the tailgate, and $50 for the rear quarter panels. Saved about $40 by bidding on them and I have seen the pieces go cheaper than what I paid for them. I will try to get some pictures up this weekend as soon as I find the charger to my camera.
